ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A daytime shooting in Albany is causing some concern.
It happened Tuesday around 11 near West Gordon Avenue, leaving a 22-year-old injured.
Chief Michael Persley said daytime shootings are rare in Albany. He's hoping they stay that way.
He said the number of aggravated assaults has been down in the past few weeks.
Tuesday's incident is still under investigation.
Police believe there are four suspects in the case.
The victim told police the men were in a car driving by him when one of them started firing shots.
The shooting happened across the street from a popular convenience store and residential neighborhood.
"People are going about their daily routines and you know if I am out getting gas or stopping to get a drink and some candy, with gunshots that is the last thing you would expect," said Persley.
Police said it is important for people to call CrimeSTOPPERS if they know anything about the shooting. He said if you think it's part of a larger crime that is brewing, police need to be aware.
