LEE CO., GA (WALB) - One man is custody after leading law enforcement on a high speed chase in Lee County.
Just before 3:00 a.m., Trooper Strickland attempted to pullover 28-year-old Willie Sheard of Albany, at Lovers Lane Road, near Forrester Parkway.
Sheard sped up and continued along Lovers Lane Road.
Leesburg PD units tried spike strips but Sheard continued traveling north, making it to the intersection of Highway 32 and Lovers Lane Road.
Trooper Strickland used a PIT maneuver which caused Sheard to spin into a ditch. No one was injured.
Sheard has been booked in the Lee Co Jail. He is charged with failure to maintain lane, speeding, open container, DUI, suspended license, fleeing/attempting to run, and reckless driving.
The scene is now clear.
