Police looking for robber who beat victim with a stick

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police are trying to find the person that assaulted a resident with a stick, before robbing them.

Officers said that they responded to the 200 block of Telfair Avenue in reference to an armed robbery, just around 11 Saturday night.

The homeowner said an unknown male confronted him behind his house, holding a stick to the side of his neck and demanding money.

The homeowner adds that they were beaten several times before giving away all the money in their possession.

Police are still on the lookout for the suspect.

Witnesses said that he appeared to be a black male with a slender build and was about six feet tall.

They were also last seen wearing a fishing hat, jeans and a camouflage jacket.
