VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The E-911 burglar alarm for Imperial Auto Sales on North Ashley Street went off about 2:00 Monday morning, and responding officers quickly had suspects in custody.

They saw a security camera damaged, and the back door of the business had been broken.

Screwdrivers, hammers, and gloves were found among the suspects.

Kevin Brown, 18, was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and will now face charges of felony Criminal Attempt to Commit Burglary and felony Possession of Tools for the Commission of a Crime.

Three juveniles that were with him will face the same charges and have been turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

"It is imperative that parents continue to monitor their children's activities as best they can. In this incident, three out of the four subjects that have been arrested were minors that were caught breaking into a local business at two o'clock in the morning instead of being at home. No one wants to see our youth start down a path towards an adult criminal record.  Parents who have difficulty with their children are urged to seek assistance from the Valdosta Police Department or the Department of Juvenile Justice," said Lieutenant Adam Bembry.

The juveniles cannot be named in news reports.
