LEE CO., GA (WALB) - A south Georgia peanut plant is facing more than $100,000 in penalties for multiple, repeated safety violations.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited Great Southern Peanut in Lee County for hazards they said could result in serious injuries or death.

The violations include exposing workers to unguarded horizontal shafts and accumulations of combustible peanut dust.

The company has 15 business days to answer OSHA's claims.
