MOULTRIE, GA (WALB) - Students in South Georgia have the tools to learn about weather conditions and their importance.

WeatherSTEM donated various equipment and technology to Cox Elementary School to help get them engaged in learning about meteorology.

CEO Ed Mansouri demonstrated how the weather station works.

The data received from the technology can be used in math and science curriculum at the school.

"Instead of using made-up data, it's using actual live data from the instrument out of the playground," said Mansouri. "It just gives them an extra spark. And maybe that spark is enough to push them from failing to passing."

The instruments will also help with the growth of vegetable gardens that students planted behind the school.
