CALHOUN CO., GA (WALB) - The EMS and 911 Director of Calhoun County is in jail. She's accused of providing contraband to prisoners in Calhoun State Prison.

After weeks of investigating, at 6:30 this morning the Calhoun County Sheriff's office and the department of corrections raided the Edison home of EMS Director Susan English.

The DOC obtained a search warrant because of evidence English had illegal contact with state prisoners.

She is currently charged with having items prohibited for possession by inmates, but Calhoun County Sheriff Josh Hilton expects more charges are coming.

"The department of corrections still has an ongoing investigation on it," said Hilton. "I can't really speculate on a lot of the stuff, but I understand it's probably going to be more charges."

Sheriff Hilton says officers seized evidence at English's home, but the search didn't stop there.

"At the same time that we executed the search warrant at Wayback Rd, we also executed a search warrant at the EMS station."

Items were taken from both locations that investigators say show English was providing contraband items to state prisoners.

The investigation is ongoing.
