Flooding reported in Dougherty Co.

DOUGHERTY CO., GA (WALB) - According to Albany police officials, flooding has been reported in Nottingham, Stuart, 8th Avenue, 11th Avenue, Lippett, Oglethorpe, Halloway, South Slappey, Seminole, and North Westover areas.

Tornado warnings have now been issued for Dougherty, Turner, Worth, Lee, and Ben Hill Counties.

A severe thunderstorm warning is still in effect for Dougherty, Baker, Calhoun, Colquitt, Early, Lee, Mitchell, Tift, and Worth Counties.

A car is reported to have stalled in water at 8th Avenue and Van Buren Street. Another similar event has been reported in the 800 block of West Oglethorpe Boulevard.

Georgia Power has confirmed that about 1,300 customers to be without power between Sasser, Lee, and Early Co. Sheriff officials have been called off roads due to high winds.

NWS has reported a tree blown down on Hickory Ridge Court in Lee Co. Two trees have been reported to fall on a home in the 2800 block of North Doublegate Drive in Albany.

Water is covering roads in the 2300 block of Sharon Avenue at Nottingham Drive.

Residents are advised to stay indoors and away from all windows.
