THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A South Georgia man is arrested after leading officials on a high speed chase.

Officials say Thomasville police officers tried to pull over Scott Johnson for a stolen license tag but Johnson drove away. The chase continued into the county forcing Thomas County deputies to get involved.

"The pursuit itself lasted for several minutes getting up to the speeds of 94 miles per hour according to the officer the vehicle eventually was leading up to the county where Thomas County Sheriff's Office as well as the Thomas County narcotics division actually took over the chase," said Major Eric Hampton.

Johnson is facing several charges such as a D.U.I, Driving with a suspended license, Flight and Escape, Failure to obey traffic control devices, and driving without insurance.
