DECATUR CO., GA (WALB) - Decatur County deputies are now helping with the search for a couple of North Georgia burglars because they could be connected to thefts in the South Georgia area.

Conyers police chased two men driving a stolen U-haul truck containing a John Deere tractor, mower, and Stihl power equipment stolen from an Ag Pro store there. The men got away, but one of them was captured on a convenience store surveillance camera before the burglary.

"They normally steal a roll back or a U-Haul trailer to steal this equipment, so if they do have a problem and they get caught they can run and leave all the stolen equipment there and that's what happened several times" said Sheriff Wiley Griffin.

Sheriff Griffin thinks these same guys could be responsible for equipment thefts from Ag Pro in Decatur County in the last month or so. There is a $3,000 reward on the case. Call the Decatur County Sheriff's Office if you have any information.
