AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - Americus police are looking for burglars who targeted a gas station for the second break-in this month at the same store.

Clerks at the Shell gas station on West Forsyth say they no longer have a job, and shoppers are inconvenienced, because of these crimes... Crimes so aggravating that the owner has decided to close the store.

The burglars got in the same way both times, breaking out the front door early Sunday morning. This time though, the two men grabbed a key to the office and stole hundreds of dollars. The first burglar only targeted lottery tickets.

Police made an arrest in the first one, but so far have no leads in the most recent break-in. "It's very concerning because this is twice within one month here at the same location and it's high on our priority list however at this time we have not been able to capture the perpetrators," said Interim Chief Herman Lamar with the Americus Police Department.

Nether of clerks wanted to speak on camera, but both were upset about the decision to close because of the break-ins.

If you know anything about the most recent break-in, you're encouraged to call the Americus Police Department.
