THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - A man is behind bars in Thomas County after deputies say he held a woman and child against their will.
Deputies arrested Michael Brown after responding to a home on Foxcroft Drive last week.
When deputies arrived, Brown had a knife in his hand, threatened deputies that he had a gun, and that he would kill himself.
Once the victims was able to escape, and deputies detained Brown by deploying their Tasers.
"We've been very fortunate that the officers were able to use less lethal force in situations that really would have been justified deadly force," said Thomas County Sheriff's Captain Steve Jones.
Brown is facing aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and family violence charges.
