East Point man takes home trophy at American Pool Checkers Association

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An East Point man took home the top trophy Thursday night at the American Pool Checkers Association tournament held in Albany this week.
Alfred "Eastpoint" Barnett is the Top Master.
He's been playing checkers for 57-years and has won this tournament 12-times.
He credits natural ability and his fierce competitive spirit for his success.
"Well it's somewhat kind of old news to me. I done won so many titles. This is my twelfth title and that puts me at all time tops," said Alfred "Eastpoint" Barnett, Top Master.
"I think it was a great tournament. It turned out to be very well. We had great participation. We had a lot of people from all over the United States," said Joe Davis, Bull City Pool Checker Club.
More than 70 people competed in the tournament.
The top three finishers in 5-divisions won cash and trophies.
