ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police says they've received several complaints about a phone scam.
Police say a man who calls himself Michael Nixon is telling folks they missed jury duty and Superior Court Judge Willie Lockettehas issued a warrant for their arrest.
The scam artist tells folks they can pay over the phone using a prepaid Walmart or Walgreens card.
Also, police say someone is calling citizens and asking for donations to help purchase bullet proof vests. APD says they're not working with any organization for this case. They advise people to call and confirm with any agency before donating.
Anyone who receives these types of calls should contact Albany police.
