LESLIE, GA (WALB) - A team from the National Weather Service in Peachtree City arrived in Sumter County Monday afternoon to determine whether it was a tornado or winds that damaged several grain silos Sunday.

The team confirms that a tornado touched down Sunday.  The say an EF-1 class tornado with 105 mile per hour winds hit the ground in and around Hooks Mill Road, near Leslie.

Sumter EMA says four grain silos located near Leslie were damaged during strong thunderstorms that moved through south Georgia Sunday.
