Albany Tech hosts annual “roast” and silent auction

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Technical College's Foundation hosted its annual "roast" and silent auction tonight.

This year's guest of honor was Ken Hodges...who served three terms as the Dougherty District Attorney.

Albany Tech's president says this is a fun event that helps raise money to help Albany Tech students.

"We get an opportunity to poke fun at one of our friends, have some friendly banter, and make a few new friends and raise some money for the college," says Albany Tech President Dr. Anthony Parker

"Well Albany Tech is a crown jewel of Southwest Georgia, and Dr. Parker has been a tremendous leader for years, and the things that they do to create work for this region, which is economically one of the most poor regions in the country is phenomenal, " guest of honor Ken Hodges.

Several "roasters" poked fun at Hodges, including one of his former prosecutors and current Dougherty County commission chairman Chris Cohilas.
