Albany and Dougherty County leaders are working to educate people about the controversial Sabal Trail natural gas pipeline proposed to run through the county.

City officials will host a public meeting on the project Saturday September 27th at 10 a-m at the East Albany Police Precinct on Oglethrope Boulevard.

The following Monday city and county leaders will meet in room 100 of the government center.

The time has not been determined.

"They are for information and people need to get out and hear what is going on and what is about to happen in our community so that we can work together and come together to stop it," says Mayor Dorothy Hubbard.

Mayor Hubbard says she's against the pipeline and is concerned about the noise a proposed compressor station would cause.
