THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Thomasville Police officers have a new tool to help them save lives. Each patrol car now has an automated external defibrillator.
The devices could help police officers save lives at a scene before EMS arrives. The Thomasville police chief says it's a worthy investment.
"We can't put a price on the services that we render to our citizens, or anyone that is coming through the city of Thomasville, you can't put a price on their safety, the quality of life and being able to give aid when it's needed," said police chief Ellis Jackson.
The department bought the AED devices with money seized by the department. No tax money was used.
