Smash & Grab thieves hit Dougherty store

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Police are looking for suspects in an overnight smash and grab burglary at a Dougherty County convenience store.

Around 1:30 Tuesday morning ADT got a signal of an alarm going off at the M & M Mart on Liberty Expressway and quickly contacted the owners.

Once the owners arrived they saw broken glass scattered throughout the entrance.

Both registers were thrown to the ground and money was taken from a safe.

Dougherty Police officers are reviewing surveillance video.

The owners say the crime is a shock because this is the first time this has happened to them in the 7 years they have been in business.
