Tift sheriff issues statement on daycare worker arrest

On February 13, 2012, the Tift County Sheriff's Office was notified of allegations of inappropriate contact with children involving an employee of a local daycare facility.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the inappropriate contact was alleged to have been perpetrated against children ranging in age from 3-10 years old while they were passengers on the facility's van and while at the facility.
On February 16, 2012, 60-year-old Tifton resident Shelton R. Floyd was arrested and charged with Child Molestation.
Floyd was an employee of Upon Eagles Wings Daycare located at 334 E. Golden Road in Tifton.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
