Atlanta Braves long time coach and instructor Bobby Dews of Edison just released his sixth book.

Bobby Dews' latest work is his first novel, titled "Unpublished Poets." It's the story of a young baseball player in 1945 South Georgia, who breaks the color barrier, becoming the first white player on a traditionally all black youth baseball team.

Dews says being an author is a long time family goal.  "My grandfather wanted me to be a lawyer and a writer. And of course everybody else in town wanted me to be a baseball player. So I guess I tried to blend the two," said Dews.

Dews will begin his 53rd year in pro baseball February 16th when he reports to Atlanta Braves spring training as their major league instructor. His latest book is available on Amazon-dot-com.
