New prosthetic technology is now available in Albany.
Limbcare is now able to provide the new prosthetic arm.
The i-LIMB Hand, is a first-to-market prosthetic device with five individually powered digits.
This artificial limb looks and acts like a real human hand.
A big advance from older technology that only allowed the first three fingers to move.
"So this one you can move the thumb around wherever you need it and because all the fingers move, we have a compliant grip," says Michael Schuch, Southern Prosthetic Supply Clinical/Tech. Services Director.
Insurance coverage varies from company to company, so check with your insurance provider to see if this new prosthetic is covered.
