Bar owner shoots at club goers

A group of club goers shot up Sports Zone Bar and Grill because they weren't ready to leave. The club owner, Reginald Gordon, used his gun in self-defense.

The club bouncer was shot in the leg and taken to Phoebe Putney Hospital.  EMS and Police responded to the shooting shortly after 2am.

The bar was about to close and a group of guys didn't want to leave. APD says as security escorted the men out a fight happened.

At some point, the five men started shooting at the building. That's when the owner came outside with his shot-gun and fired back.

The Sports Zone Bar and Grill is no stranger to violent activity. Last year five gang members were convicted of aggravated assault after beating a woman with beer bottles in 2009.

Just two years earlier, there were two separate shootings outside the club. In March of 2007, one man was shot twice and another was grazed by a bullet.

In July of the same year, someone did a drive-by shooting at this exact location.

Police say the group this morning left in three different cars including a Chevy Impala, a White Expedition and a burgundy car.
