Albany parrot on the loose

The term "Polly want a cracker?" was valid Sunday night when an Albany man caught a parrot in a tree off Harris road in Dougherty County.

Lymus Butler says he saw a bright red, yellow, and blue parrot in a tree on his property. It flew over to another tree and came straight to him after he offered it a cracker. He was able to catch it by its tail and finally put it in a cage.

Butler doesn't know how the parrot got loose but he thinks it may belong to someone. He was working on his car when he spotted it in the tree.

"I saw the parrot fly by so I came over to my neighbor's house to ask how can I catch a parrot," said Lymus Butler. "The parrot came over and followed me. I was able to catch him near a smaller tree by giving him a cracker. He came to me and I put him in the pin."

Butler and his neighbor tried contacting Dougherty County Police. They don't handle a case like this. They also called Animal Control but got no answer.
