Chinese will eat with GA chopsticks

AMERICUS, GA (WALB) - As many as 150 jobs are coming to Americus. Those workers will make chopsticks to send to China.

Georgia Chopsticks plans to open a facility in a building leased from the Payroll Development Authority at 102 Brady Road.

Owner Jae Lee tried to start a company to send timber to China for production.

When that didn't work out, he decided to make the product here and ship it to China.

The chopsticks will be made from Poplar and Sweet Gum trees native to south Georgia.
