An Albany woman convicted of murdering her ex-husband last month reported to the Dougherty County jail Friday afternoon and will now be transferred to a state prison to begin serving her life sentences.
33 year old Marlina Hamilton was found guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, and aggravated battery family violence March 25th. Hamilton admitted she shot 32-year old Christopher Donaldson twice in her Habersham Road home last October 11th.
She testified he repeatedly abused her and hit her just before she shot him.
The Judge gave Hamilton three weeks to get her affairs in order before surrendering. Her attorney, Johnnie Graham, said they have discovered new evidence since the trial and will file an appeal.
