Tommie joined the WALB team in February 2021 and is the weekend meteorologist for the First Alert Weather team. Tommie was born in Central Alabama, just 30 minutes north of the state capital of Alabama, Montgomery. He graduated from the University of South Alabama in Mobile in May of 2017, GO JAGS! He graduated with a bachelor's degree in Meteorology and minored in Mathematics. Tommie has gained knowledge in the world of meteorology by interning with WSFA 12 News in Montgomery and working at WREX 13 News in Rockford, Illinois for over two years. Experiencing snow and being able to forecast it was one of his favorite things about Northern Illinois. He first got into weather when he was young and always had a fascination with severe weather. He also had a love of teaching and decided to use his other passion to help educate people on how to stay safe during any weather phenomena. Tommie loves to craft by making burlap wreaths, learning new languages, and exploring new places. He looks forward to exploring all the beautiful places that South Georgia has to offer.
