Weekend/First Alert Anchor

Kiera Hood is WALB's weekend and First Alert anchor for the 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 11 p.m. newscasts. She joined the team in December 2020. She is a native of Fairfield, Ala., outside of Birmingham, and a graduate of the University of Montevallo. She has more than four years of producing experience and is now looking to move in front of the camera. She was a producer at the Black News Channel in Tallahassee, where she produced the 9 p.m. show. Kiera has also worked at WVTM 13 in Birmingham and our Gray affiliate WSFA in Montgomery. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Kiera enjoys listening to music, hanging with friends and family and eating a good seafood boil.
