Tuskegee Airman celebrates 106th birthday

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – A World War II veteran and Tuskegee Airman celebrated a big milestone over the weekend – his 106^th birthday.

Thomas Vaughns was surrounded by friends and family in Little Rock, Arkansas, for the occasion on July 11.

Vaughns served in World War II and the Korean War.

After the military, he worked in agriculture, helping farmers in communities around Arkansas.

Vaughns’ son said he has always been there for his family and attributes his longevity to “clean living.”
