ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The family of a Dalton teen and father being held in ICE custody said bond hearings have been set for the two.

The family said the father, Jose Arias-Tovar, has a bond hearing set for Wednesday morning, and 19-year-old Ximena Arias-Cristobal has a hearing set for Tuesday, May 20.

Attorneys for Arias-Cristobal haven’t yet confirmed her bond hearing has been set.

Both Arias-Cristobal and Arias-Tovar are being held at the Stewart Detention facility after being arrested during traffic stops.

On Monday, Dalton police said the teen was pulled over by mistake last week and that dashcam video later showed they pulled over the wrong car.

But the teen and her father are still undocumented.

On Tuesday, family friend Jennifer Enriquez talked to Arias-Cristobal on the phone.

“She sounds good over the phone, but like, I mean, how can she be in there?” Enriquez said.

Arias-Cristobal’s mom said she is trying to stay calm through all of this, especially after learning of the police’s initial mistake.

“Knowing that her daughter didn’t do anything wrong,” Enriquez said, translating for Arias-Cristobal’s mom. “All that they’re saying is that they’re sorry. They’re not really doing anything about it. It’s just making her feel, like... that they can’t do more, you know?”
