Multiple days of severe weather
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - We’ve got two sides of spring this week. Following today’s tranquil weather, conditions transition to a more active stormy weather pattern Tuesday and Wednesday. The FIRST ALERT Weather Team has declared Tuesday and Wednesday FIRST ALERT Weather Days.
There’ll be two rounds of severe weather with the first tomorrow as a storm system pushes east with threats of damaging winds, tornadoes, large hail and heavy rain. For Tuesday SPC has outlined an Enhanced Risk and a Slight Risk of severe storms across SGA. A Mesoscale Convection System (MCS) which is a strong line of storms, tracks east with the severe weather threats into SGA from midday Tuesday into the evening.
A second round of storms are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening with a cold front. Major threats large hail, damaging winds and a low but not zero tornado threat.
You can prepared by having multiple ways to receive alerts. Know where you’ll seek shelter making sure you’re putting as many walls between you and the outside. Also, watch for flash flooding and ponding of water on roads, slow it down.
One last round of light rain early Thursday moves out early afternoon. Not only drier but much cooler the end of the week through the weekend. Highs rather cool in the mid-upper 60s and on the chilly sides lows in the low-mid 40s. Warming into the 80s again next week.
