A red 2019 Honda Accord was driving west and crossed the median into the path of a second car, a white 2021 Chevrolet Colorado, driving east, according to APD.
“The driver of the Honda attempted to correct their path but overcorrected causing the Colorado to collide with the driver’s side of the Honda,” police said in a release. “A third car, a gray 2019 Ford Expedition, traveling directly behind the second car ran into the back of the vehicle causing both of their vehicles to rest at the bottom of the embankment. A fourth car, a teal 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, then collided with the Honda.”
The driver and two of the three children in one of the vehicles are in serious condition and were taken to the hospital. Another driver also had serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital.
Police said the other drivers involved in the crash were in good condition.
The crash is still under investigation.
