ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man was injured after being stabbed early Sunday morning, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

Dougherty County Emergency Dispatch originally told WALB News 10 that a woman was stabbed, but APD reported Monday afternoon that it was a 22-year-old man that was injured.

It happened at the Luxury Inn in the 200 block of Thornton Drive.

According to APD, the victim got into an altercation with another man outside of one of the rooms.

The argument was then taken inside the room and police said Closed Circuit TV showed one of the men exit the room with a knife.

Officers said the victim had several lacerations on his body but refused to elaborate on how he was injured.

APD said this is still an active and ongoing investigation.
