ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Our Kids, Our Future, LLC (OKOF) is hosting a “Community Appreciation Day 2021″ to show appreciation to the community on Saturday, May 8.
The event will be from 2:30-5 p.m. at Highland Park, 1000 Highland Ave.
There will be free food and live music by DJ MJ Styles.
OKOF organizers said the event is to say thank you to the community for supporting their movement over the last few years.
Founder Rodriquez Thomas says with everything that has happened over the past year with the coronavirus, they just want to thank the city of Albany for the continuous support by giving back.
“We want to let the community know that we appreciate them and thank them for believing in Our Kids, Our Future. For allowing us into their neighborhoods, their homes, and allowing their families and children to a part of change. We want to continue to inspire, uplift everyone we come across. We want to continue to be the face of change in Albany. We want to continue to show them that there is a good life city in the Good Life City, that there is positivity that comes out of the city of Albany,” Thomas said.
