ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Greg Edwards, the district attorney for the Dougherty Judicial Circuit, is encouraging his team to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
He does so just before and after the expansion of who can get it opened up to more people on Monday.
Edwards believes a portion of his investigators and victim advocates should be considered higher on the list to get the vaccine. He said his investigators and victim advocates have a lot of contact with others in the public and he considers them to be frontline workers.
“I have victim advocates and other people that meet with the public on a regular basis. So, I consider us to be frontline people to that extent,” said Edwards.
Edwards said he plans to get the vaccine as soon as he can, but is unsure when that may be.
He is unsure who all has gotten the vaccine in his office, If anyone. However, he said some people in his office have already gotten on lists to get it.
Edwards said getting the vaccine is not mandatory for his staff.
