Hahira students meet U.S. Space Force commander

HAHIRA, Ga. (WALB) - A group of students from Hahira Elementary School are looking to the stars after a unique experience.

The fifth graders met Lt. Gen. David Thompson, the vice commander of the newly created United States Space Force.

He talked to the group about his job and the determination the student would need to be successful in the ever-evolving world of science, technology, engineering and math.

Thompson challenged the group to be like their school mascot and to be future Vikings and explore the world.
