BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - A generous donation is helping save a South Georgia school thousands of dollars.

BASF Corporation, the largest chemical producer in the world, donated equipment to Southern Regional Technical College (SRTC) - Bainbridge for the school’s electrical program.

If SRTC would have bought these items new, it would have cost over $40,000.

Educator Owen Elkins said donations like these allow students teo receive hands-on training and experience with the most current equipment.

“Updated equipment can be cost-prohibitive. Without donations like these, we could not afford to purchase updated equipment because it does change so frequently,” said Elkins.
