ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany police said a pedestrian who was seriously injured after he was involved in a crash Monday evening has died of his injuries.
According to a press release, a Honda Accord was heading north on North Slappey Boulevard in the right lane just before 7 p.m.
Officers said the driver of the Honda noticed Gerald Walsh, 74, of Albany, in the road at the intersection of North Slappey Boulevard and West Tift Avenue and swerved left, but was unable to avoid Walsh.
According to an Albany Police Department (APD) accident report, the Honda hit Walsh with the right side of the front bumper.
APD said Walsh sustained serious injuries and was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital Emergency Center for treatment.
Mr. Walsh died at Phoebe Putney according to Albany Police.
