ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Both men wanted by the Albany Police Department (APD) in connection to a dating app scam have turned themselves in to police, according to a press release.

Tredarius Bernard Newberry, 21, and Donnie Carlton Jones III, 20, turned themselves in, APD reported Monday.

Both have been charged with home invasion in the first degree.

Background:

Warrants were issued for Newberry and Jones for first-degree home invasion in December.

According to police, the two were arranging dates on an app called Tagged. When they arrive at the person’s home, one man comes up with a reason to go outside and returns with the second man to rob the victim.

APD said there have been two reports so far, but police said they believe that more victims have not made a report.
