Heavy rain may cause flash flooding

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The new year off to a wet, mild and breezy start. Mostly light to moderate rain across SGA however an isolated strong maybe severe storm remains possible into early evening.

As a cold front stalls across SGA, rain continues Saturday. Persistent heavy rain with amounts of 3″-4″ and higher may lead to flash flooding. A Flash Flood Watch will be in effect through Saturday evening. Remember, if you come across a rain covered road, be safe and turn around. Rain ends early Sunday.

Thankfully one dry day of the extended holiday with sunshine and cooler 50s Sunday. Rainfree with seasonal temperatures through midweek. Rain returns Thursday.
