ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Police Department (APD) is warning people in the area who use dating apps.

APD investigators have issued warrants against Donnie Carlton Jones III, 20, and Tredarius Bernard Newberry, 21, for first-degree home invasion.

Police said Jones and Newberry are arranging dates on an app called Tagged. When they arrive at the person’s home, one man comes up with a reason to go outside and returns with the second man to rob the victim.

APD said there have been two reports so far, but police said they believe that more victims have not made a report.

Investigators are urging people who use dating sites to be cautious when meeting people for the first time and try to meet in public places.

If you have any information regarding Jones and Newberry, call Albany CrimeStoppers at (229) 436-TIPS to remain anonymous.
