Showers Thursday, severe threat New Year’s Day

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - More clouds and warmth as highs top the 70s this afternoon. Dry conditions hold through the evening with showers moving in after midnight. Scattered showers and breezy with warm 70s New Year’s Eve. Rain continues with the threat of strong-severe storms New Year’s Day. There’s a Marginal Risk with threats of damaging winds and isolated tornadoes Friday afternoon into the evening.

As a strong cold front slowly moves east, rain lingers through Saturday. After several days of rain amounts of 2-4″ are expected. Finally drying out and cooler Sunday. Highs in the mid 50s to low 60s while lows drop into the mid 30s into mid week.
