ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man was charged in a burglary incident after he and the business owner were spotted arguing outside an Albany store, according to an Albany Police Department (APD).
Police responded to the 1300 block of N. Jefferson Street.
Two men were arguing outside of the Dollar General.
Police stopped one of the men that tried to walk away.
The man, later identified as Jonathan Avery, 28, was detained and police said his firearm was placed inside a police car.
The incident report said the other man in the argument told police that he was arguing with Avery because he broke into his vacant business.
The victim told police that an air compressor spray gun, an air nail gun, and other tools were taken. The value of the items totaled to $1,300, according to the incident report.
The victim also told police that he didn’t get a chance to call the police because he was chasing the person that broke into his business. The door to the vacant business was kicked in and the victim said he spotted someone running out of the business with tools in hand.
Avery was taken to the Dougherty County Jail and was charged with second degree burglary, according to the incident report.
