ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An Albany man was indicted by The Dougherty County Grand Jury Wednesday for shooting two men and killing one of them.
Gavin Ivey, 21, was indicted for felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of gun charges.
The indictment claims Ivey shot and killed Jakoby Church with a rifle on April 25, 2020.
According to the indictment, Ivey also shot another man multiple times, but he survived.
Below is a copy of the indictment. Names have been redacted to protect the identity of other victims in this case.
Police said the shooting happened during a card game in an apartment in the 2000 block of West Broad Avenue.
Ivey was arrested in Thomasville two days later.
Investigators said the gun Ivey had was one of 46 guns stolen from a Tallahassee gun store.
The Dougherty County grand jury wrapped up its work Wednesday on orders from the Georgia chief justice that all court, trial and jury work stop once again due to the pandemic.
The Dougherty Grand Jury reviewed 260 cases in the last several weeks.
