VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - High School football is heating up in South Georgia.
Quarterfinal action is set to get underway on Friday night.
In 7-A the Lowndes Vikings are expecting to make a return trip to the State Semifinals.
A win Friday night would mean a double-digit win total for Head Coach Jamey Dubose in year number one.
Again Lowndes will hit the road as they look to keep their season alive.
Friday night brings a date with Milton, who the Vikings last met in 2018, in the State Semifinal.
The Eagles would advance and later went on to capture a state title.
In two nights, Lowndes will get the opportunity to come away with a different result as this team works towards its first title since 2007.
For the second straight time this postseason, the Vikings will load the buses ready to prove themselves once again.
”When you go on the road, there’s a lot of distractions. A lot of things that can come in your way we’ve got to continue to eliminate that. And we got to continue just to, to make the place where we’re going, our home. And that’s what we’ve told our guys all year we’re playing on turf that’s what we play on normally the crowds are not home-field advantages now so you know we’ve just got to go in there and be ourselves and worry about us and it gives us a chance to win,” said DuBose.
The Vikings will kick things off with Milton on Friday night at 7:30 pm...
