REBECCA, Ga. (WALB) - New details are emerging in an unsolved triple homicide that happened 18 years ago in Turner County.
Prosecutors told WALB a new witness has come forward in the 2002 deaths of the Wideman family in Rebecca.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Tommy Joe Wideman, his wife Deborah, their daughter Melissa and Melissa’s unborn baby were found dead inside their burning home in March 2002.
Investigators say a passing truck driver spotted the fire and reported it early that morning. Investigators say all three victims were shot to death before the fire started.
No word yet on who the new witness is, or whether that person will lead to answers in the case.
