SGMC honors COVID-19 nurses

VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - South Georgia Medical Center (SGMC) honored six nurses recently.

They were honored for working SGMC’s COVID-19 patient floor since the virus hit Lowndes County six months ago.

Chief Nursing Officer Randy Smith said these nurses have experienced many difficult shifts.

SGMC nurses have cared for more than 600 COVID-19 patients.

The group of nurses got a standing ovation.
