UPDATE: Girlfriend charged in early Saturday morning fatal stabbing

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The suspect has been identified in the fatal stabbing that happened Saturday morning, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).

Police said Tara Irvin, 48, stabbed Quartavaious Nicholas Beasley, 36.

Beasley was found with a stab wound to his chest in the 500 block of Dorsett Avenue. The report from APD says that Irvin told the responding officer that Beasley told her that some men jumped him and stabbed. The report states that Irvin was performing CPR on Beasley when they arrived.

Irvin is being charged with felony murder and family violence. The report states that she had an outstanding warrant for battery.
