ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Eighteen un"bee"lievable spellers competed during Dougherty County School System’s District Spelling Bee.
The spelling bee was at Dougherty Comprehensive High School on Friday.
Robert Cross Middle Magnet School student Yasmeen Omar won first place and Lake Park Elementary School’s Emily Rutledge was named the runner-up.
WALB’s Karla Heath-Sands served as master caller.
Omar will move on to compete on the regional level.
