COLUMBUS, Ga. (WALB) - A soldier serving at Fort Benning was promoted to lieutenant colonel, the 23rd rank in the United States Army.
Jon Anderson is no stranger to South Georgia.
He is a native of Albany and recently moved back with his wife, Mandy, and two children, Ernie and Ellen.
They participated in a ceremony to honor the accomplishment at the National Infantry Museum in Columbus on Monday.
Anderson said he’s thankful for the opportunity.
